Zelensky: It’s not agreement that works with Russia, it’s force

President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine insists that the agreements don’t work with Russia as the latter only understands the factor of force, therefore the world needs to rally around Ukraine and isolate Russia.

The Ukrainian leader made the statement in an interview with the French media, Ukrinform reports.

"It is not an agreement that works with Russia, it’s a fact of force. Why do we need a world united around Ukraine? It would be such a fact of force to make them (the Russians - ed.) end the war. Not to kill them, not to torture them, not to rape them – which is what they did to our people. No! The fact of power: the whole world isolates Russia, including their business – thanks to the sanctions policy, tourism – through shutting down borders and revoking visas, they don't sell them weapons, they don't sell them technology," Zelensky emphasized.

The president said that Ukraine currently employs all mechanisms to bring those guilty of crimes to justice, including through joint investigative teams and capabilities of the International Criminal Court, also emphasizing the importance of establishing a special tribunal.

"We want a special tribunal that would sentence them because history has not yet witnessed such weapons being used, history hasn’t witnessed the torture of so many people – they cut off parts of people's bodies, there’s also rape, mass murder," the president said.

As reported, on September 22, President Volodymyr Zelensky formed a working group headed by the head of his Office, Andriy Yermak, which will deal with the issue of establishing a special international tribunal to hold those guilty of aggression against Ukraine accountable.
