Extensive evidence proves terrorist nature of Putin’s regime – Ukraine’s Ambassador to UN

Further bloody and shameful pages are added to the list of Russian war crimes, committed in Ukraine, daily, if not hourly.

That’s according to a statement by Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the United Nations, Ambassador Sergiy Kyslytsya, who spoke at the UN Security Council meeting on the situation in Ukraine on July 29, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Kyslytsya spoke of the latest Russian atrocities committed in Ukraine, including torture of prisoners of war and their killing and blowing up of a penitentiary facility where captured servicemen with the Azov Regiment had been held – in the occupied town of Olenivka, Donetsk region. According to the ambassador, the move aimed at covering up torture and executions committed in the said penal colony.

Kyslytsya also recalled the Russian missile strike that hit the Odesa seaport hours after the grain export agreement was signed in Istanbul, the shelling of a residential building and two rehabilitation facilities in Odesa region, and a five-storey apartment block in Chasovyi Yar, Donetsk region, a missile strike at the center of Vinnytsia, the recent strikes on civilian targets in Kropyvnytskyi, Kyiv region, Chernihiv region, and daily shellings of Kharkiv and Mykolaiv.

“It is outrageous that Russia still tries to disseminate fakes instead of fulfilling its obligations. To be frank, a diplomatic note, sent this week and signed by the Russian chargé, should be subject to consideration by medical specialists, rather than the Security Council members,” Kyslytsya told the UNSC.

The note claimed that “the Russian armed forces… do not target civilian infrastructure.”

“Seriously! Does the Russian diplomat believe that the Security Council is the studio of a Skabeyeva show?” Kyslytsya said, referring to an infamous propaganda panel show aired on one of the federal TV channels and hosted by one of the Russian propaganda’s most notorious talking heads.

“Killing innocent children – that is what Russian murderers call ‘de-Nazification,’” Kyslytsya stressed, adding that another declared goal – so-called “demilitarization” – means “razing Ukrainian cities to the ground,” with civilian infrastructure being among the primary targets.

“As of June, for instance, the Russian war has led to the destruction or damage of 116,000 residential buildings that were home to 3.5 million Ukrainians. 183 religious sites, including 173 Christian, five Muslim and five Jewish, were destroyed in 14 Ukrainian regions,” Ukraine’s Permanent Representative to the UN said.

“Russia has resorted to terrorism to intimidate and to undermine our resolve to resist,” Kyslytsya said, noting that to this end, they have fired more than 3,000 missiles on cities and villages throughout Ukraine.

“The effect, however, is quite the opposite, and Ukrainian society is united in its aspiration to liberate our sovereign territories and to bring all those responsible for the killing and destruction to justice,” the ambassador emphasized.

Addressing the Russian permanent representative to the UN, Kyslytsya said that all perpetrators of the atrocities will be held accountable and that the Soviet seat that Russia has taken up in the UN Security Council will not help them escape punishment.
