Moldova’s Sandu plans to come to Ukraine

Moldovan President Maia Sandu mulls a Kyiv visit, the details of which are yet to be reported.

Sandu announced this on June 24, speaking on the air of Primele știri on Prime, Ukrinform reports with reference to News Maker.

"This is in my plan. But I will reveal the details once we confirm everything," Sandu said.

As reported, on June 22, the presidents of Moldova and Ukraine, Sandu and Zelensky, discussed by phone the meeting of the European Council, which was at that time set to take place on June 23.

A spokesman for Zelensky's administration, Serhiy Nikiforov, said that, if this visit did take place, no one would report it in advance over security considerations.

On June 23, the European Council decided to grant Moldova and Ukraine EU membership candidate status, calling the move a “historic” moment.
