UNSC to hold another meeting over Russian war in Ukraine

On Monday, June 6, the United Nations Security Council will hold another briefing on the situation of Ukraine.

“The open Security Council briefing will focus on the war's effects on women, including the increased risks of conflict-related sexual violence and trafficking,” according to the UNSC secretariat.

The anticipated briefers are Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict Pramila Patten and civil society representatives from Ukraine and the U.S. Also, President of the European Council Charles Michel is expected to participate in the event.

Ukraine has been invited to take part in the briefing. The country’s Permanent Representative to the UN Sergiy Kyslytsya will address the briefing which will start at 17:00 Kyiv time.
