Zelensky, Erdoğan discuss food security and peace restoration

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan have discussed threats to food security and cooperation in the security sphere.

The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Twitter, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Continued dialogue with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Discussed threats to food security posed by the aggressor & ways to unblock Ukrainian ports. Held discussions on cooperation in the security sphere. Unanimously agree on the need to restore peace. We appreciate Turkey’s help in this process,” Zelensky wrote.

A reminder that, on May 30, 2022, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke to Russian President Vladimir Putin on phone. The Turkish side offered to host and play its role in a meeting between Russia, Ukraine and the UN in Istanbul, and a possible monitoring mechanism.
