Putin may announce something 'grand' on May 9, Ukraine ready for any scenario, says Kuleba

Since the start of the Russian aggression on February 24, Ukraine is constantly under threat from Russia and is ready for any scenario every day, including May 9.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said this at a joint briefing with the foreign ministers of the Baltic countries in Kyiv, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"I am not concerned over May 9. In fact, what could be worse? Will more missiles fly toward Ukraine? The Russians can increase this number at any time - before, after or on May 9. Will more Russian troops be deployed into Ukraine? This can also happen every day," Kuleba said.

He noted that Putin could use the date for propaganda purposes and announce something "big, grand."

"Since February 24, we are ready for any scenario. And I would not like to overestimate the threats of the May 9 date, because something can change every day," said the foreign minister.

Responding to the question directed to all the participants of the briefing about the attitude in their countries to the celebration of May 9, which Russia has turned into a cult event, Kuleba said that May 9 is between May 8 and 10 and he had nothing more to say.

As reported, Ukrainian intelligence, as well as a number of high-ranking military officials in Britain and the United States, said that Putin may announce a general mobilization in Russia on May 9.
