Kuleba thanks PM of Bulgaria for initiating fundraising campaign for Ukraine

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba thanked Prime Minister of Bulgaria Kiril Petkov for initiating a fundraising campaign for Ukraine.

“Grateful to Prime Minister of Bulgaria Kiril Petkov for initiating a public campaign to raise funds for Ukraine and help us strengthen our defenses. This move demonstrates true Bulgarian solidarity with Ukraine. I felt it well when I was received by PM Petkov in Sofia last week,” Kuleba posted on Twitter.

Earlier, the Prime Minister of Bulgaria announced the launch of a fundraising campaign for the Ukrainian government, urging to follow his example and donate a month’s salary.

Bulgaria condemned Russia's invasion of Ukraine, voted in favor of European Union sanctions against Russia, and has accepted more than 90,000 Ukrainian refugees. However, there is no consensus in the four-party ruling coalition on whether to send weapons and ammunition to Kyiv.

The Parliament of Bulgaria is expected in the near future to discuss how to further support Ukraine.
