Kuleba asks UN Security Council to hold urgent consultations on Ukraine's security

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba has submitted an official application to the United Nations Security Council member states with a request to hold urgent consultations on reducing tensions around Ukraine.

"On President Zelensky’s initiative, I officially requested UNSC member states to immediately hold consultations under Article 6 of the Budapest memorandum to discuss urgent actions aimed at de-escalation, as well as practical steps to guarantee the security of Ukraine," Kuleba posted on Twitter.

As reported, 119 attacks on civilian objects in the populated localities of Donetsk and Luhansk regions were recorded over the past five days. As a result, 44 civilian houses, four educational institutions, two cars and a garage, 11 objects of critical infrastructure were damaged, two civilians were injured, three civilians more were contused.

As a result of 15 attacks on civilian infrastructure that took place from 12:00 to 16:00 on February 21, the occupiers also damaged power lines and left 7,300 civilians without electricity.
