EU to establish advisory military training mission in Ukraine – Kuleba

The European Union foreign ministers at a meeting in Brussels approved a political decision to establish an advisory military training mission in Ukraine, which will be a powerful signal of political support.

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba said at a press conference following the meeting with the EU foreign ministers, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

"We have reached an agreement that the European Union will set up an advisory military training mission in Ukraine. The parameters of this mission and the period of its deployment will be clarified, but the decision has been reached in principle. This will be an important political signal to increase the presence of the European Union in Ukraine, to launch such cooperation in the military sphere," Kuleba said.

The Ukrainian foreign minister stressed that this is not combat forces.
