Ukraine and Italy agreed to resume regular political consultations between their foreign ministries.

"We also talked about the development of bilateral relations, agreed to resume the practice of regular political consultations between our ministries. The last time such consultations were held was in the early 2000s, and this is absolutely unacceptable for relations between our countries," Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba said at a joint briefing with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy Luigi Di Maio in Kyiv on February 15, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

In turn, Italy’s top diplomat noted that he was ready to hold a new round of consultations with Kyiv in Rome and invited the foreign minister of Ukraine to attend.

The ministers also discussed increasing trade between Ukraine and Italy and business projects.

"Today we discussed specific things so that more Italian companies work in Ukraine, so that there are more opportunities to attract Italian funding for projects in Ukraine, and, third, so that the trade between our countries grow," the minister said.

As reported, Luigi Di Maio plans to make an official visit to Moscow on Wednesday, February 16, immediately after his visit to Kyiv on Tuesday.
