Scholz promises to inform if there are new decisions on weapons for Ukraine

Germany keeps reconsidering the issue of arms supplies to Ukraine and promises to announce if there are new results.

"You know Germany's attitude towards arms exports… We are re-considering this issue over and over again, and we will let you know if there are new results," German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said at a joint press conference with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

Germany has provided a lot of assistance and is the largest financial donor to Ukraine, Scholz noted.

Germany continues to refuse to provide Ukraine with defensive weapons, despite repeated calls from Kyiv. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba stated that the German legislation does not contain any legal prohibitions on the arms supplies to Ukraine, so this is a political issue.

On Monday, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz makes a visit to Ukraine. On Tuesday, he will visit Moscow.
