Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal has held a meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation of Spain, José Manuel Albares Bueno.

Shmyhal emphasized that Spain remained one of Ukraine's major trading partners in the European Union. He noted that in the first 11 months of 2021, trade between the countries had grown by more than 28% (to $2.26 billion).

"The Government of Ukraine expresses readiness to deepen cooperation in all areas of bilateral partnership. We expect that a business forum with the participation of Spanish businessmen will be held during the visit of the Prime Minister of Spain to Ukraine," Shmyhal said.

According to Shmyhal, Ukraine is looking forward to holding the Fourth Meeting of the Joint Ukrainian-Spanish Intergovernmental Commission on Economic and Industrial Cooperation in Kyiv that year, which would boost investment and economic cooperation between the two countries.
