Zelensky, Nauseda discuss security situation

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda in a phone call discussed the security situation along the Ukrainian border and in temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

"The Head of the Ukrainian State told his interlocutor about the current security situation along the border and in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. He stressed the importance of preserving the unity of EU and NATO member states in this situation," reads the report posted on the president’s website, Ukrinform reports.

Zelensky also thanked Nauseda for a clear and consistent position of Lithuania in support of Ukraine, as well as for significant practical assistance in strengthening the defense capabilities of Ukraine.

The interlocutors also praised the traditionally high dynamics of bilateral dialogue at all levels. The leaders coordinated their positions on the schedule of further contacts as part of the Ukrainian-Lithuanian strategic partnership.

As earlier reported, the Defense Ministry of Lithuania announced it would supply the Ukrainian army with U.S.-made Stinger man-portable air defense systems (MANPADS), as well as portable thermal imagers (for Ukrainian special forces).
