Britain's foreign minister to visit Ukraine next week

UK Foreign Secretary Liz Truss will visit Ukraine next week.

Truss said this in parliament on Tuesday, Ukrinform reports, citing Reuters.

"I'll be visiting Ukraine next week," she said.

Truss also recalled warnings that "a further military incursion by Russia into Ukraine would be a massive strategic mistake and come with a severe cost on Russia's economy, including coordinated sanctions."

Truss said earlier that she was considering creating a trilateral alliance between Britain, Poland and Ukraine.

Truss also discussed with diplomats the signing of a partnership agreement, with Ukraine being able to receive about GBP 35 million from the UK, the United States, Canada, Sweden and Switzerland to counter Russia's influence in Ukraine. The minister expects the agreement to be signed before January 31.
