Blinken tells Zelensky U.S. support for Ukraine remains unwavering

The United States' support for Ukraine's sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity remains unwavering, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has said.

That's according to a statement made by State Department spokesperson Ned Price following Blinken's phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukrinform reports.

"Secretary Blinken reiterated the United States' unwavering support for Ukraine's sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity in the face of Russian aggression, ahead of President Biden's discussion with President Putin," the statement said.

It added that both parties "agreed on the need for a peaceful, diplomatic resolution to the conflict in the Donbas and the full restoration of Ukrainian sovereignty over its internationally recognized borders, including Crimea"

Blinken and Zelensky had a phone call on Monday, December 6, ahead of an upcoming video meeting between U.S. President Joe Biden and U.S. President Vladimir Putin. According to the Ukrainian President's Office, the American and Ukrainian sides coordinated their positions and agreed to continue joint and concerted action.
