MPs dismiss Abramovsky as Ukraine's environment minister

The Verkhovna Rada has dismissed Roman Abramovsky as Ukraine's minister for environmental protection and natural resources.

Some 322 MPs voted for a respective decision at a parliament meeting on Wednesday, November 3, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

On October 19, the Verkhovna Rada received a letter of resignation from Abramovsky.

Members of the Servant of the People faction at a meeting on November 1 approved the candidacy of Deputy Minister for Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Ruslan Strilets for the minister's post.

Abramovsky was appointed minister for environmental protection and natural resources on June 19, 2020. Prior to that, from October 2019, he held the post of deputy minister for energy and environmental protection.
