Yermak says ready for friendly dialogue and cooperation in Washington

Head of the Ukrainian President's Office Andriy Yermak has said he is ready for friendly dialogue and cooperation in Washington as preparations are underway for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to the United States.

Yermak wrote this on his Facebook page.

"Today in Washington. We arrived here together with Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba. We are preparing the visit of the President of Ukraine to the United States. [...] We are ready for friendly dialogue and fruitful cooperation, because we have a lot in common," Yermak wrote.

He added that Zelensky's visit to the United States would be of great importance for the further development of Ukrainian-American relations.

"Our stay here will be short, but the schedule is very tight. The agenda includes meetings with U.S. National Security Advisor Jacob Sullivan, U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, representatives of the Senate and leading think tanks," Yermak said.

He also stressed that one of Ukraine's main priorities on the world stage was to strengthen cooperation with the United States in defense, military-technical, economic and political areas.

"First of all, this is determination in the protection of democratic values and interests of the state," Yermak said.

Earlier reports said that Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and Head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak had arrived in Washington to prepare Zelensky's visit to the United States on August 30.
