Twenty-nine countries confirm participation in Crimean Platform summit

Already 29 countries have confirmed their participation in the Crimean Platform summit in Kyiv on August 23.

"The first summit of the Crimean Platform will take place on August 23. This is an initiative of Ukraine, which was supported by dozens of our international partners. We bring Crimea back on the world agenda to bring it back home, to Ukraine. The United States, Great Britain, Poland, Turkey, the Baltic states, France, Germany, many countries of the European Union, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, a total of 29 countries have already confirmed their participation in the summit. This is a large, but not the final list of all countries that will sign a joint declaration of joint agreements and joint intentions on August 23," President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced at the All-Ukrainian Forum "Ukraine 30. Image of Ukraine", presenting events dedicated to Ukraine’s Independence Day, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

He stressed that Ukraine would never forget about Crimea.

"Ukraine will not raise the issue of Crimea only in one case: when it will raise the Ukrainian flag in Crimea," the President said.

As a reminder, Ukraine intends to launch on August 23 the Crimean Platform – a new consultative and coordination format initiated by Ukraine to step up the efficiency of international response to the occupation of Crimea, respond to growing security challenges, increase international pressure on Russia, prevent further human rights violations, protect victims of the occupation regime, and achieve the main goal: to de-occupy Crimea and return it to Ukraine.
