Avakov thanks parliament for ratification of four Ukrainian-French projects

Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov has thanked Ukrainian MPs for the ratification of four large-scale Ukrainian-French projects, including a project to improve water supply in Luhansk region.

According to Ukrinform, Avakov wrote this on his Twitter account.

"The Verkhovna Rada has ratified four large-scale Ukrainian-French projects - EUR 1.3 billion for the Ukrainian economy. [These projects concern] locomotives for Ukrzaliznytsia, fire ladders for the State Emergency Service, quality drinking water for Luhansk region and Kyiv. I thank my French colleague Le Maire. I thank the deputies," he wrote.

On July 1, the Verkhovna Rada ratified a Ukrainian-French intergovernmental agreement to strengthen the protection of the population from emergencies, a Ukrainian-French intergovernmental agreement on the purchase of 130 freight electric locomotives, a Ukrainian-French intergovernmental agreement to finance a project to improve water supply in Kyiv, and a Ukrainian-French intergovernmental agreement to improve water supply in Luhansk region.

On May 13, French Minister of the Economy and Finance Bruno Le Maire announced that France would sign four strategic intergovernmental agreements with Ukraine totaling 1.3 billion euros.
