Regional, global alliances may strengthen Ukraine's security - Kuleba

Ukraine should work to create regional and global alliances that will help strengthen its security before the country joins NATO, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has said.

According to Ukrinform, he stated this in an interview with the Liga online news site.

Kuleba said that Ukraine had to strengthen its security now, before it joins the North Atlantic Alliance.

"I see that like this. We are moving towards NATO membership. We do not know when that happens. Anything we are doing today and before NATO membership and that does not undermine that goal is acceptable. We are working on the development of military cooperation. We are looking for and we are creating regional and global alliances that will help strengthen our security," Kuleba said.

He stated that currently there is no state in the world that would be ready to provide security guarantees to Ukraine.

"But there are many states with which we can create diplomatic combinations, which will strengthen Ukraine's security. First of all, it is the United States," Kuleba said.
