Denmark ready to deliver 500,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine to Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky had a phone conversation with Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Denmark Mette Frederiksen.

“On the eve of the NATO summit on June 14, the President informed the Danish Prime Minister on the security situation in Donbas and near Ukraine’s borders. He stressed that the level of threat remained high as only part of the Russian troops and heavy weapons had been withdrawn from the Ukrainian borders so far,” the press service of the Head of State informed on June 11.

The President thanked Denmark for its firm support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Zelensky stressed the importance of maintaining international pressure on Russia in order to achieve real progress in a peaceful settlement.

The parties discussed practical cooperation in support of Ukraine’s efforts towards NATO membership and within the framework of European integration.

Mette Frederiksen told the President that Denmark was willing to deliver 500,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine to Ukraine.

Zelensky also confirmed the invitation to the Prime Minister of Denmark to visit Ukraine to participate in the inaugural summit of the Crimean Platform and in the events on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's independence.
