Arakhamia, U.S. congressman discuss provision of COVID-19 vaccine surplus to Ukraine

Head of the Servant of the People faction Davyd Arakhamia discussed with U.S. Congressman Adrian Smith the issue of providing Ukraine with a surplus of COVID-19 vaccines.

They discussed this issue during an online meeting, according to the press service of the Servant of the People party.

"I was very pleased to speak with Congressman Smith, a respected member of the U.S. Congress from the Republican Party. Congressman Smith is a powerful and influential advocate of Ukraine's interests," Arakhamia said.

During the meeting, they discussed priority issues for Ukraine in relations with the United States, in particular, U.S. sanctions on the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, Ukraine's movement towards NATO membership, the provision of a surplus of COVID-19 vaccines by the United States to Ukraine, and the possibility of a meeting between the presidents of the United States and Ukraine.

"Congressman Smith has repeatedly stressed that cooperation between the United States and Ukraine is intensifying. The United States will fully support and assist Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression," Arakhamia noted.

He also invited Smith and other representatives of the U.S. Congress to join the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Ukraine's independence.
