Zelensky signs law on land decentralization

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has signed a law amending the Land Code and other legislative acts to improve the system of management and deregulation in the field of land relations.

The law was signed during his speech at the All-Ukrainian Forum "Ukraine 30. Land" on Monday, May 24, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

"Law No. 2194, which fundamentally changes the land management of our state and which is called the Land Constitution," Zelensky said, commenting on the law before signing it.

On April 28, the Verkhovna Rada adopted Law, No.2194, "On Amendments to the Land Code of Ukraine and Other Legislative Acts Concerning Improving the System of Management and Deregulation of Land Relations." The law provides for the transfer of state-owned lands to communal ownership of territorial communities.
