Markarova holds first meeting with Ukrainian consuls in United States

The newly appointed Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States, Oksana Markarova, has held the first meeting with the Consuls General of Ukraine in New York, Chicago and San Francisco.

In a post on her Facebook page, Markarova wrote: "The first meeting with the Consuls General of Ukraine in New York, Chicago, San Francisco. So far, meeting are virtual… We have discussed ideas for improving services for our citizens, better coordination and ambitious plans in all areas”.

According to Markarova, the embassy is planning trips to American regions, meetings with governors, mayors, business representatives and the Ukrainian community.

As reported, Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Oksana Markarova left for Washington on April 20.

President Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Markarova as Ukraine's ambassador to the United States on February 25.

Markarova headed the Ukrainian Finance Ministry from June 2018 to March 4, 2020.
