Zelensky wants to hear signal about MAP at NATO summit in June

Ukraine will find out at the NATO summit in June which member countries support the proposal to grant Ukraine a Membership Action Plan (MAP), President Volodymyr Zelensky has said.

According to an Ukrinform correspondent, he said this at a press conference as part of his working visit to Paris on April 16.

"The NATO summit will be held in June. We will definitely hear there [at the summit] whether there is such a signal and from which specific countries we will receive support in this matter - the MAP," Zelensky said.

Following his meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, Zelensky expressed confidence that Ukraine has the support of Paris in obtaining the MAP.

"I would like to hear concrete things when this could happen. However, we understand that everything depends not only on France. But it plays a big role in resolving this issue," Zelensky said.

The NATO summit will take place in Brussels in June 2021. The exact date for the high-level meeting has not yet been determined.
