Zelensky leaves for eastern Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is on a working visit to eastern Ukraine where he will visit the frontline positions of Ukrainian servicepersons, the presidential press service has reported.

"President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has started a working trip to Donbas," the report reads.

According to the President's Office, Zelensky will visit the frontline positions where the regime of comprehensive and permanent ceasefire has been systematically violated recently and where Ukrainian defenders were killed and wounded in enemy shelling. "Volodymyr Zelensky goes to Donbas as Supreme Commander-in-Chief to talk to the military and support the fighting spirit of defenders," the report reads.

The head of state is scheduled to meet with Ukrainian servicemen serving on the front line.

Russian-backed forces violated the ceasefire seven times on April 7, wounding one Ukrainian serviceman.
