Zelensky appeals to Normandy Four leaders over escalation in eastern Ukraine

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has called on the Normandy Four leaders and partners to do utmost to maintain a full ceasefire in eastern Ukraine.

Zelensky wrote this on his Twitter account.

"The price of war is the lives of our people. Courageous and unconquered. Today we lost 4 defenders of Ukraine again. Sincere condolences. I urge all N4 leaders and partners to do their utmost to preserve a full and comprehensive ceasefire," the president tweeted.

On March 26, the armed formations of the Russian Federation opened fire from 82mm mortars, automatic easel grenade launchers and heavy machine guns on Ukrainian positions near Shumy (41km north of Donetsk). As a result of the shelling, four Joint Forces servicemen were killed and two were wounded. The wounded soldiers were promptly given first aid and taken to a hospital.
