Ukraine invites Kuwait to take part in Crimean Platform

Ukraine has invited Kuwait to take part in the Crimean Platform initiative.

This was discussed during a meeting of Ukraine’s Ambassador to the State of Kuwait Oleksandr Balanutsa with Assistant Foreign Minister of Kuwait for Protocol Affairs H.E. Dhari Al Ajran, the press service of the Embassy of Ukraine in Kuwait reported.

"During the meeting, the parties discussed ways to intensify bilateral cooperation in various fields, in particular the possible participation of the Kuwaiti side in the Crimean Platform initiative," the statement reads.

As reported, the Crimean Platform is a new consultative and coordination format initiated by Ukraine to improve the efficiency of the international response to the occupation of Crimea, respond to growing security challenges, step up international pressure on Russia, prevent further human rights violations, protect victims of the occupying power and to achieve the de-occupation of Crimea and its return to Ukraine.

The Crimean Platform is to be launched officially at an inaugural summit in Kyiv on August 23, 2021.
