Ukraine planning to withdraw from another CIS agreement

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine at today’s meeting approved the draft law “On withdrawal from the Agreement on cooperation in the development and use of cellular mobile communication systems”.

The government also supported a resolution on submitting this draft law to the Verkhovna Rada for consideration.

According to the explanatory note to the bill, the agreement provides for cooperation of CIS member states in the development of cellular mobile communication systems, improvement of the interstate market of services and consistent implementation of the agreement on coordination of interstate relations in the field of postal and electronic communications of October 9, 1992.

However, since the signing of the document, the agreement has not been implemented in Ukraine.

It is noted that cooperation and contacts with the CIS executive bodies on the implementation of the agreement do not take place for objective reasons, so there is no need to exchange information on the obligations of the parties in connection with Ukraine's withdrawal from the agreement.
