Ukraine hails U.S. decision to impose sanctions on Russian officials

Ukraine welcomes the decision by the United States to impose restrictive measures against a number of Russian officials, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Oleg Nikolenko has said.

"Ukraine welcomes the U.S. decision to impose sanctions against a number of Russian officials and institutions involved in Navalny's poisoning. Russia must be quickly and decisively brought to justice for gross human rights violations, including in the occupied parts of Ukraine," Nikolenko wrote on Twitter.

On March 2, Washington announced sanctions against high-ranking Russian officials over the attempt to kill Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny with a nerve agent, as well as against 14 legal entities involved in the production of chemicals.
