Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has said he agreed with Vice-President of the European Commission Maros Sefcovic on Ukraine's more active involvement in the industrial alliances of the European Union.

The head of government wrote this on Twitter.

"Discussed with Maros Sefcovic industrial dimension of our cooperation, in particular within EU ERMA [European Raw Materials Alliance] & EU Battery Alliance. Agreed to strengthen participation in EU alliances. 2021 will be a key year in launching new Ukraine-EU strategic partnerships," Shmyhal said.

Shmyhal also met with Executive Vice-President of the European Commission Margrethe Vestager.

"Was glad to meet Vestager before the EU-Ukraine Association Council. A great opportunity to discuss Ukraine-EU cooperation on digital, cybersecurity, industry and competition. We continue digital and economic integration into the EU," he added.

A Ukrainian government delegation led by Shmyhal began a working visit to Brussels on Tuesday, February 9.

Government representatives have already met with the leadership of the European Union and NATO.

On Thursday, February 11, government officials will take part in the seventh meeting of the EU-Ukraine Association Council in Brussels.
