The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine recommends that Ukrainians refrain from traveling to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

Citizens of Ukraine who already stay in Myanmar are asked to register in the Druh electronic system or report their whereabouts to the Ukrainian embassy, according to the Foreign Ministry’s website.

"Due to the declaration of a state of emergency in the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry recommends that citizens of Ukraine refrain from visiting this country until the stabilization of the internal political and security situation," the statement reads.

At the same time, Ukrainians in Myanmar are strongly advised to register in the Druh electronic system (https://friend.mfa.gov.ua) or report their location to the Embassy of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Thailand (hotline phone: +66970107760, e-mail: consul_th@mfa.gov.ua).

As reported, the Myanmar President's Office declared a state of emergency which will last for one year after the military detained government leaders including the state counsellor and president on Monday, February 1.
