Kuleba congratulates Blinken on his appointment as U.S. Secretary of State

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba has congratulated Antony Blinken on his appointment as United States Secretary of State and expressed hope for further strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries.

"Congratulations to Antony Blinken as he assumes the office of U.S. Secretary of State. I am looking forward to further strengthening the Ukraine-U.S. strategic partnership for the benefit of our nations. Let our alliance bring a great chord in Transatlantic unity and resilience," Kuleba posted on Twitter on January 26.

Antony J. Blinken was sworn in as the 71st U.S. Secretary of State on January 26, 2021.

The Secretary of State, appointed by the President with the advice and consent of the Senate, is the President's chief foreign affairs adviser. The Secretary carries out the President's foreign policies through the State Department, which includes the Foreign Service, Civil Service, and U.S. Agency for International Development.
