Russia to be clearly defined as aggressor state in Ukrainian legislation

The future law on Ukraine’s state policy of transitional period will clearly define the Russian Federation as the aggressor state.

"We propose to say openly in this law that the Russian Federation is the aggressor state in relation to the occupied Crimea, the city of Sevastopol and certain areas of Donbas in a clear and understandable manner. And then all the legal consequences can be used," Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov told journalists, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

Reznikov stressed that the territory of Crimea and part of Donbas are occupied, not annexed, which is a very important international aspect. In addition, the minister clarified that a glossary is being prepared to avoid confusion, and the Russian Federation will be clearly defined as the aggressor state in it.

As reported, on January 11, 2021, the Ministry of Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine published the text of the draft law on Ukraine’s state policy of transitional period.
