Ukraine, Moldova to create Presidential Council – Zelensky

Ukraine and Moldova have agreed to create a Presidential Council to address issues of bilateral relations, President Volodymyr Zelensky says.

He announced this after the signing of bilateral documents with President of Moldova Maia Sandu in Kyiv on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

The event took place without the participation of the media outlets; it was broadcast live on the Facebook page of the head of the Ukrainian state.

"We decided to create a Presidential Council, within which we will format the strategy and coordinate our actions to address the tasks of the bilateral agenda," Zelensky said.

In addition, the two presidents intend to resume the dialogue at the highest level and make it dynamic and effective.

According to Zelensky, the priorities of the joint "economic impulse" will be energy, infrastructure, transport and transit.

President of Moldova Maia Sandu arrived on her first official visit in Kyiv on January 12, 2021.
