President dismisses Cherkasy regional governor

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has dismissed Serhiy Serhiychuk as head of Cherkasy Regional State Administration.

A decree to that effect has been published on the website of the head of state.

"To dismiss Serhiy Ivanovych Serhiychuk as head of Cherkasy Regional State Administration in accordance with his [resignation] statement," the document reads.

By another decree, the head of state temporarily assigned the duties of the Cherkasy regional governor to Viktor Husak.

Serhiychuk was appointed head of Cherkasy Regional State Administration in August 2020.
