Nothing will stop Ukraine from being together with big European family - Stefanchuk

First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk has said that nothing will break the spirit of unity and prevent Ukraine from being together with the big European family of nations.

Stefanchuk stated this in his address on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Ukraine's accession to the Council of Europe.

"We continue to lay bricks side by side, building a common European home. I am grateful to the Council of Europe for supporting Ukraine in implementing its plans and ambitions in the European direction," he said.

He stressed that Ukraine demonstrates its unity with the big family of European nations in their common commitment to protect human rights, maintain democracy and ensure the rule of law.

"Since November 9, 1995, the state flag of our country has proudly flown in front of the Palace of Europe among many flags of other member states and symbolizes Ukraine's accession to the Council of Europe," Stefanchuk said.

On November 9, 1995, Ukraine became the 37th member state of the Council of Europe.
