In order to fulfill its obligations under the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement, the Ministry of Infrastructure has elaborated 11 basic draft laws and by-laws in the field of transport which need to be adopted as a matter of priority.

"In the field of European integration, we have 11 draft laws and bylaws that need to be adopted in the near future. Among the fundamental ones, there is the bill on domestic water transport, which is currently being prepared for the second reading, the bill on railway transport, and the bill on multimodal transport which is to be adopted by the Government today. Therefore, we expect that it will be approved by the Verkhovna Rada in the near future," Infrastructure Minister of Ukraine Vladyslav Kryklii said at the meeting of the commission for coordination of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement implementation on Wednesday, the Ministry’s press service informed.

According to Kryklii, the Ministry of Infrastructure also continues to bring Ukrainian legislation on transportation of dangerous goods and regulation of road transport service market in line with the European laws.

In addition, the minister underscored the importance of ratifying the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006. “This is an important document for navigation and sailors. I am confident that this ratification will facilitate Ukraine’s significant progress in the European integration in the area of transport," the Ukrainian minister concluded.
