Zelensky appoints new Ukrainian ambassador to Italy

President Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed Yaroslav Melnyk as Ukraine's ambassador to the Italian Republic.

The decree on his appointment, No.399/2020, has been published on the president’s website.

"To appoint Yaroslav Melnyk as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Italian Republic," the document says.

On July 15, the President dismissed Yevhen Perelyhin from the post of Ukraine's ambassador to the Italian Republic, as well as from the posts of Ukraine's ambassador to the Republic of Malta, ambassador to the Republic of San Marino, and Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) concurrently.
