Govt allocates UAH 432M to Chernivtsi region to overcome effects of June floods

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has allocated UAH 432 million to Chernivtsi region to overcome the consequences of the June floods.

"The Cabinet of Ministers has allocated UAH 432 million to Bukovyna to eliminate the consequences of the flood," Head of Chernivtsi Regional State Administration Serhiy Osachuk wrote on Facebook.

He noted that well-coordinated work of Chernivtsi Regional State Administration and local self-government bodies was needed in order to carry out emergency recovery work timely and efficiently.

As reported, heavy rains between June 22-24 caused floods in the Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Lviv, and Ternopil regions. Three people were killed in floods and one more went missing. Hundreds of kilometers of roads, dozens of bridges were destroyed, and hundreds of people were resettled.

The Cabinet of Ministers allocated almost UAH 700 million for the needs of the regions to eliminate the consequences of the natural disaster.
