Ukraine, Poland planning to hold meeting of joint commission on economic cooperation

Foreign Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba had a telephone conversation with Foreign Minister of the Republic of Poland Zbigniew Rau yesterday, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry’s press service reported.

In particular, the misters discussed the preparations for Polish President Andrzej Duda’s visit to Ukraine at the invitation of President Volodymyr Zelensky, which should further promote political cooperation and serve an opportunity to reach new agreements on a wide range of issues on the agenda of the strategic partnership between Ukraine and Poland.

“Dmytro Kuleba pointed out the importance of utilizing every opportunity and platform available in order to promote economic and trade cooperation between Ukraine and Poland in spite of the ongoing COVID pandemic and its negative impact on the economies of both countries. The Ministers endorsed the urgent need to set in the coming weeks a date for a meeting of the Ukrainian-Polish Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation,” reads the report.

In addition, the ministers stated about a common commitment to continue positively seeking solutions to the shared cultural and historical issues.
