FM Kuleba invites Germany to join platform for de-occupation of Crimea

Ukraine will be grateful to Germany for considering the proposal and joining the international platform for the de-occupation of Crimea.

“We paid special attention to the issue of Crimea. This issue is always on the agenda, we consider it as a priority. I informed Heiko Maas that the Foreign Ministry had elaborated a concept for an international platform on Crimea. After this concept is finalized and approved, we will be grateful to Germany if it considers our proposal [to join the platform] and its format of participation in this platform," Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba said during a joint press conference with German Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs Heiko Maas in Kyiv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

In addition, Foreign Minister Kuleba expressed hope for holding a meeting of the foreign ministers of the Normandy format countries in September.

"There is every reason to believe that the [Normandy format] meeting will take place in a full-fledged, four-party format and will be attended by the Russian Foreign Minister," he noted during the press conference.
