Zelensky welcomes signing of €1.2B loan agreement with EU

President Volodymyr Zelensky has welcomed the signing of a memorandum and a loan agreement on the provision of EU macro-financial assistance worth EUR 1.2 billion to Ukraine.

"I welcome the signing of the Memorandum and Loan Agreement on the provision of EU macro-financial assistance to Ukraine in the amount of €1.2 bln. We are grateful for the support for macroeconomic stability and the reform process in Ukraine in overcoming the consequences of COVID-19,” the President wrote on his Twitter page.

On July 23, Ukraine signed a memorandum and a loan agreement with the European Union on receiving EUR 1.2 billion of macro-financial assistance.

In May 2020, the EU approved a decision to provide Ukraine with EUR 1.2 billion of macro-financial assistance over the COVID-19 pandemic.
