Kremlin sees no grounds for Normandy Four summit

The conditions necessary for holding a new Normandy Four summit have not been created so far, Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov has said.

According to Russian newspaper Izvestia, Peskov, commenting on a statement by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky regarding the upcoming Normandy Four summit in Berlin, stated that "there is no necessary groundwork for this for now."

Zelensky said on July 21 that Ukraine was waiting for the date for a new Normandy Four summit in the near future, as all parties are ready for the summit.

According to him, there is confirmation from the German and French sides, and there is an agreement that the Russian Federation "is not against meeting either," because everyone understands the importance of such meetings.

The leaders of the Normandy Four countries last met in Paris on December 9, 2019.
