Zelensky to attend ceremonial parliament meeting on July 16

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will take part in a ceremonial meeting of the Verkhovna Rada on July 16 to mark the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of Ukraine, the parliament's information department has told Ukrinform.

"A ceremonial meeting of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Declaration of State Sovereignty of Ukraine will begin on July 16, 2020, at 16:00," the report reads.

According to the report, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukraine's first president Leonid Kravchuk, and others will speak at the meeting.

Razumkov will open the meeting.

Zelensky is expected to present state awards to those who adopted the Declaration of State Sovereignty of Ukraine. Razumkov is to present diplomas of the Verkhovna Rada to the people's deputies of the first convocation and participants in the adoption of the declaration.
