Zelensky expects new agrarian minister to be appointed in September

President Volodymyr Zelensky has said he expects that a separate Agrarian Ministry will be established and a relevant minister will be appointed in September.

"We have one session week left, the next one, and then the Verkhovna Rada will have [summer] recess, so I doubt that we will manage to appoint a new minister and create a ministry so quickly. However, no later than September, when MPs will start working again, we will appoint one and there will be a separate agrarian minister,” he said a meeting with business representatives in the Volyn region, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

The president has added that he is awaiting proposals from farmers and agricultures on possible candidacies for the post of a new agrarian minister.

A reminder that the current Ukrainian Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture is headed by Ihor Petrashko.
