PM Shmyhal to report in Parliament on Friday

Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal will report in the Verkhovna Rada on Friday, July 2.

Verkhovna Rada Chairman Dmytro Razumkov stated this at a meeting of the Agenda-Setting Council on Tuesday, an Ukrinform correspondent reported.

“Speaking about an hour of questions to the government, all parliamentary factions have proposed that the prime minister to report [in Parliament]. The first issue is those terrible events that we are observing in the west of our country. Another proposal concerns some staff appointments and the issue of the use of funds [to tackle the spread of] COVID, because these are complex issues,” said the speaker.

As reported, heavy rains on June 22-24 caused floods in Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Lviv, and Ternopil regions. The flooding has killed three people, one person is missing. Hundreds of kilometers of roads, dozens of bridges were destroyed, and hundreds of people were resettled.

The Cabinet of Ministers allocated almost UAH 700 million for the needs of the regions to eliminate the consequences of the natural disaster.
