Kuchma remains head of Ukrainian delegation at Minsk talks

Leonid Kuchma remains the head of the Ukrainian delegation to participate in the Trilateral Contact Group for the Peaceful Settlement of the Situation in Donetsk and Luhansk Regions.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said this at a press conference in Kyiv on May 20 when asked why Kuchma has not been participating in the Minsk talks since March, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"He [Leonid Kuchma] is the leader and he participates in meetings [of the TCG]," the head of state said.

The TCG meetings are held via video conferencing, and on Wednesday, May 20, such a meeting will take place, Zelensky noted.

As Ukrinform reported, on May 5, President Volodymyr Zelensky updated the composition of the Ukrainian delegation for participation in the Trilateral Contact Group for the Peaceful Settlement of the Situation in Donetsk and Luhansk Regions. The Ukrainian delegation to the TCG is headed by Leonid Kuchma, the President of Ukraine in 1994-2005.
