Zelensky approves candidacy of Dzhaparova for post of first deputy foreign minister

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenky has approved the candidacy of Emine Dzhaparova for the post of first deputy minister of foreign affairs.

The president said this during a meeting with representatives of the Crimean Tatar people on Monday, the press service of the head of state reported.

“President Zelenky noted that representatives of the Crimean Tatar people must be represented at the highest diplomatic level. Therefore, the head of state agreed on the candidacy of Emine Dzhaparova for the post of first deputy minister of foreign affairs,” the statement says.

The president also said that in the coming days he plans to sign a decree according to which Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Fitr will receive the status of state religious holidays.

Emine Dzhaparova is a Ukrainian journalist of Crimean Tatar origin.

Since April 2016, she held the position of first deputy minister of information policy.

On September 2, 2019, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution on the optimization of central authorities, according to which the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports was created on the basis of the Ministry of Information Policy, with the tasks and functions of the liquidated Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Youth and Sports.

On September 5, 2019, the Government dismissed Emine Dzhaparova from the post of first deputy minister of information policy.
