Half of heads of Ukrainian customs fired

Half of the heads of Ukrainian customs offices have been dismissed during a meeting of the Board of the State Customs Service, according to the Ministry of Finance.

"At a meeting of the Board of the State Customs Service, 50% of the heads of customs offices were laid off," the statement says.

On May 15, at a meeting of the Board of the State Customs Service with the participation of Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko and Acting Chairman of the State Customs Service Ihor Muratov, a decision was made to terminate the duties of the heads of Zakarpattia, Enerhetychna, Azov, Podillia, Polissia, Pivnichna, Slobozhanska, Bukovyna customs offices.

Also, the head of Odesa customs was given a warning about the upcoming dismissal.

As Ukrinform reported, in December 2019, a new State Customs Service was officially launched in Ukraine.

On April 24, 2020, the Cabinet of Ministers dismissed Maksym Nefyodov from the post of chairman of the State Customs Service, which he held since July 5, 2019.
